Banana Reef, Maldives

Banana Reef, also known as Gaathugiri, is a 300-metre-long banana-shaped part of Kuda Kalhi, North Male Atoll, Maldives. It was one of the first dive sites found in the Maldives and is known for its beautiful underwater tunnels and hanging cliffs. The reef also features a shipwreck, making it a popular destination for divers of all skill levels. Sharks, barracudas, and groupers live in Banana Reef as well.

Banana Reef is a popular diving destination in the Maldives, known for its beautiful coral reefs and diverse marine life. This reef is located in the North Malé Atoll and is shaped like a banana, hence its name. It's a popular destination for both novice and experienced divers.

BY Air : Banana Reef in Maldives is sweetly rested in the North Male Atoll, just a distance of 9 kilometres from the capital city Male. All nationalities are eligible for a tourist visa upon arrival in the Maldives. As a result, pre-approval for a visa is not necessary for foreigners visiting the Maldives as tourists. To receive immigration clearance upon arrival, the individual must, however, meet the fundamental entrance conditions.
BY Boat : Banana Reef is around 15 minutes from the manmade island of Hulhumalé and has a little bit of everything in it. This reef, also known as "Gaathugiri", is located just inside Kuda Kalhi and to the west of Club Med. It is easily accessible by boat, which is often anchored some distance away. The Maldivian islands' nice climate makes diving possible all year.
